Australian Heart Research is pleased to support researchers who undertake their work at The Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research (BHI) and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia.

The BHI facility is home to more than 140 researchers and research administrative staff, who in addition to heart disease research undertake important work into a variety of diseases and illnesses. The expanse of research undertaken within the facility allows for ideal cross-collaboration between research areas; often the findings of research into other conditions and the knowledge gained can be applied to heart disease research projects. The open plan design and the collaborative nature of the facility also allows for combined usage of state-of-the-art research equipment between teams.

The BHI is a short walk from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, one of South Australia’s leading research and teaching hospitals, which allows for a vital and active interface between researchers and clinicians. It also means that patients can benefit from research findings as soon as possible.
